Tasklist command and the alternative “Process Explorer”

The tasklist command allows you to see the list of processes running in Windows; There is an advantage of the tasklist in comparison to the taskmgr, the GUI version; The tasklist shows more details of the svchost.exe processes than its GUI counterpart.
tasklist is used to find out which services are being provided by the various instances of svchost.
the tasklist command is used in Windows XP Professional. The Windows XP home edition does not have the command
One example of tasklist command:
tasklist /svc

If you don’t have tasklist on your machine, an excellent alternative is Process Explorer, a GUI interface utility tool that allows you to display all processes running on your machine and it is more revealing the taskmgr.
