Windows XP virtual mode on Windows 7

According to Microsoft, Windows XP programs should be installed directly on Windows 7. However, there are certain exceptions. Windows XP Mode runs some older productivity programs that might not run on Windows 7. That is when you need to install Windows XP virtual mode
Important notes:
1. Make sure you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate (Home Premium edition WON’T run Windows XP mode)
2. The install is a three step process:
Download and install Windows XP mode (500mb install file)
Download and install Windows Virtual PC (9 mb file; it includes an update for Windows (KB958559) ); Reboot required after this step is completed
Download and install Windows XP mode update (This will Enable Windows XP Mode for PCs without Hardware Assisted Virtualization Technology)
