Lenovo Thinkpad Access Connections – download corrupted install file – Solution: Try another browser

I downloaded the ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows 7 ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-67283.html ) using IE 8 and when I tried to open the install file, it gave me the error message the file was corrupted; When I tried another browser (Firefox, Chrome) the install file worked, so if the file you downloaded in IE 8 is corrupted try another browser; This is another bug with IE 8
This also happens with some other install files as well. I am not sure about the cause of this but keep an eye on it!

  1. Alexander Chukhlebov Says:

The CAUSE: Your ISP’s bandwidth throttling using RST packets and packet injection. They hack your connection and send you fake packets to control speed, end result you receive corrupted files.

The SOLUTION: Try again. Changing browser doesn’t always work. I’ve changed from IE8 to Firefox, then Firefox started doing the same. Minimizing your network traffic seems to be working the best, don’t download everything at once.
