Konica Minolta Bizhub 200 won’t scan to emails but can print fine from users on the network

Scenario: Konica Minolta BizHub 200 connected on the network via a Trendnet 5 port switch
Users can print fine from the computers but can’t receive emails scanned from the printer
The scan function is enabled and the printer used to scan and email PDF’s of the scanned pages but no longer can after it was moved to another location

Diagnostics: Performed some continuous ping commands (“ping [printer ip] /t” from one of the user’s computer and noticed that results were consistently mixed. It always got 4 or 5 replies back followed by one timeout
Solution presented Enabled another network port exclusively for the Konica Minolta printer and users were able to receive the scanned pages in PDF format like before
Conclusion: Watch out for 5 port switches sharing a printer connection. A lot of these small switches are unable to handle the traffic generated by these heavy duty Konica Minolta print jobs and scan to PDF to email documents’
