What is a Concurrent License?

Microsoft and other Software vendors use a licensing concept called “Concurrent Licence”, which are licenses that are not tied to specific users. When a server requests a license, it is reserved for a specific client device/user combination. When the user logs off from the session, the license is returned to the license pool and made available for another user. Users connecting from multiple devices will consume multiple licenses.

This is true for Citrix products as well
Citrix has a product called XenApp (XA delivers applications online and offline, hosted and streamed, on demand) that uses such licensing model.
In XenApp, in addition, to the Concurrent License approach, if some servers in a farm are configured to connect to a different license server, users opening applications from both server groups will consume a license from each license server.
