You do not have access to the folder “\\client\c$\”. See your administrator for access to this folder

If you are using a VDI implementation on a XenApp environment and you are unable to access the local drives on your virtual desktop, keep in mind you need to change the registry key on the client side.

The error message goes like this:

“You do not have access to the folder “\\client\c$\”. See your administrator for access to this folder”

The following registry key needs to be enabled on the client side of the Xen Desktop or VDI client:

For XenApp client version 10.xx and later
1. Run Regedit.
2. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\ClientDrive
3. Create the Reg Value: NativeDriveMapping
4. Reg Type: REG_SZ
5. Add the Value: True

The registry hack works on a CitrixOnline Plugin version 12.1, but it should also works on a earlier or older version of the Citrix client, including Citrix Receiver 3.0 and 3.1

Good Luck

P.S.
This fix is well documented on this CTX article: CTX121503
