Finding out the Audio and Video codecs in Windows Media Player


Windows Media Player has a list of installed Audio and Video codecs. To locate the list of audio and video codecs installed open Windows Media Player and on the top menu select

Help-About Windows Media Player

Then click on the Technical Support Information link:

A HTML file should be opened on your browser. It will display all audio, video and other related codecs available for your Windows Media Player installed on your machine. This is a list of  Windows Media Player codecs installed on my Windows 8 machine:
